Stock Paintball Games

Stock paintball games may be loosing popularity, but there are still shooters that enjoy the challenges of stock paintball games.

It is generally agreed upon that the following rules are followed:

  • The paintball marker must be tilted (rocked) forward or backward in order to feed the next shot. (Horizontal paintball feed)
  • Paintball markers must need to be pumped or cocked between shots (automatic and semi-automatic paintball markers are not be allowed)
  • 15-30 shot limit on paintball marker (powered by a single 12 gram powerlet)
  • Holds a maximum of 20 paintballs
  • The paintball marker barrel does not have porting
  • Only the grips are allowed to be modified (internally and externally unaltered from factory specifications)

Some paintball players like the stock paintball game class because it takes more skill because the shooter cannot rely on the technical advances in paintball guns. It keeps the sport pure by playing the same as it was originally played. For “old-timers” they want to play the way they played when they began and want to keep it alive. They often enjoy teaching the skills and passing on the tradition. Others like it because it makes paintball affordable by keeping it simple. People with health problems, physical disabilities, and other limiting conditions may find stock paintball games easier to adapt to their abilities.

During stock paintball games, everyone starts out pretty much equal, because everyone’s guns are pretty much the same. It makes the paintball game challenging and provides many opportunities for skill development.

There are advantages to stock paintball guns. The guns are usually lighter and less gear is needed to participate in the sport of paintball. Shooters tend to have less fatigue during the game. Since the players aren’t loaded down, they can run faster and maneuver on the field better than players that play with modified, automatic, and semi-automatic guns and carry the gear that goes with it. Since the guns will shoot slower, not as many paintballs are needed to play a game.

Any paintball game can be played with a stock paintball. The game may be “tighter” and move at a slower pace. Health precautions will still need to be followed when playing stock paintball games.
