Splat Paintball Magazine
As paintball grows as a sport and as a recreational pastime, the magazine for paintball fans and players continues to expand and grow. Sexy girls, how-to instruction, secrets of the pros, gear, photos, and more are gathered together on the pages of Splat magazine. They also have a website with all the above features plus additional features like videos, a message board, and a forum.
Splat magazine contains featured articles, topic departments, tournament information, and section with reviews. It is visually impressive in the layout. You will have to subscribe to Splat or purchase an issue to see the whole thing. The website posts the table of contents with some graphics from the issue, but it is not interactive so it is not possible to click your way to the article of interest. The subscription is affordable and there is an easy on line form to subscribe.
For the paperless paintball fans, the Splat paintball site covers all aspects of paintballing. The site is interactive with quality videos and photos. I found it easy to navigate and was happy with the layout. Each area was full of information on the topic. Splat does cater visually to the men who dominate the paintball industry.
Departments of Splat
- Splat Girls - beautiful women photographed and videotaped with and without their paintball gear. Some of these ladies can also shoot and really play the game. Each of the Splat Girls has their own individual links to their photos and videos. There are also links to special featured photo collections like glamour girl action.
- Videos - besides videos of the Splat Girls, there are video categories that include Tournaments, the Splat Kids, Attakk Gear, Scenarios, Derder video, and a collection of miscellaneous videos.
- Photos - there are collections of photos from major paintball events and tournaments. Each collection has several high quality shots.
- Gear - the gear that is featured has an attention getting photo, price, detailed description and review. There are links to where the gear can be purchased on line.
- How to - quick fixes, Wild West, running and shooting are some of the topics covered. Pro-school has some nicely designed documents packed with information. Scenario/woodsball, Techtrix, Tournament how-to, and weight training are some of the other how-to categories.
- Features - articles on tournaments, hot female paintball players, my space update, and more.
Since recreation and sport paintball is dominated by the male gender, Splat caters to the men with lots of hot Splat girls featured and mixed into many features. Women will have to become more of a stronger force and may have to speak up to get more hot men featured!
Splat is well designed on the printed page and on the web. They cover all possible interests and education needs of paintball fans and players.
