Protective Equipment

It may sound strange when people tell you that when you go play paintball that you need a lot of protective gear when you are on the playing field. You may not think you don’t need all that much but the first time a paintball gets you in the chest you will think differently. One of the things you will need to have is a chest protector or a tactical vest; these will protect you from paintballs that are moving at a high rate of speed. The next important piece of equipment is a neck guard. This wraps around your neck like a scarf almost. The helmets only cover your head and chin area but a neck guard will protect your neck area. You really don’t want to get caught by a paintball in the neck.

You will also need to have forearm and knee pads. Knee pads are for the usually wear and tear on your body as you play, especially if you are running through the woods and you may need to duck down or fall to your knees to dodge a hit then you will want knee pads. Forearm pads are needed because paintballs can ricochet off of a tree or your helmet and hit you in the forearm. You will want the protective gear because paintballs sting very much.

You will want to wear gloves, gloves have a two fold reason, and one reason is so if a paintball hits you in the hand your hand will be protected. The second reason why gloves are important is because it helps you keep a better grip on the gun. If you are playing a long game your hands may sweat can cause the gun to slip. So the gloves are just as important as a forearm protector.

Goggles are very important if you don’t choose a full face helmet. There are thermal goggles and there are goggles that are built into a head and face mask the brand is an Xray 2.0 Goggles. There are goggle cleaners and anti fog sprays to help keep your goggles clean and clear so you can see any attack coming. Lastly, helmets are the most important piece of protective equipment you can buy. They will protect the head and if you have a face mask and a chin guard you can protect the whole package, but remember just because you have a helmet and face mask doesn’t mean you don’t need the neck guard. Over protection is better than a paintball to the facial area.
